Position one for Toronto's managed IT searches, and holding it
IT-Solutions.CA is a managed IT services and structured cabling provider based in Richmond Hill, serving Toronto and the wider GTA. Since 2024 we have run their SEO, and the site now sits at position 1 in Toronto for the searches that actually bring in contracts: IT services Toronto, managed IT support, IT solutions company, network cabling and cybersecurity provider.
The challenge
IT-Solutions.CA provides managed IT services, IT support and structured cabling to businesses across Toronto and the GTA, with coverage extending to Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal. Managed IT is a search-led purchase: when an office manager or operations lead needs a provider, they type it into Google, and the firms on the first page get the call.
Toronto is one of the most contested managed IT markets in Canada. National MSPs, regional providers and dozens of local shops all chase the same few commercial phrases, so the ranking on those exact terms decides whether a provider is in the conversation at all.
When we took the account on in 2024, the site had a modest footprint: the Semrush two-year chart puts organic traffic under 2,000 visits a month in the autumn of 2024. The objective was direct. Take position 1 for the commercial terms that describe what the business sells, and keep it as competitors respond.
What we did
- 01
Map the searches that mean a contract
We grouped the commercial phrases by intent: the generic IT services Toronto family, the managed IT support family, the cabling terms and the cybersecurity terms. Each group got one page built to answer it, so no two pages fought each other for the same search.
- 02
Give every term a real landing page
Service pages for managed IT support, network cabling and cybersecurity were built out or rewritten to match what the searcher expects to find, with Toronto and GTA coverage made explicit rather than implied.
- 03
Fix the site, then earn the links
Technical clean-up and on-page work came first. Link growth followed steadily, and the domain now has 396 referring domains and 33.3K backlinks, which is the authority that lets a local provider hold position 1 against national brands.
- 04
Track daily and defend the positions (ongoing)
Rankings are checked every day against Toronto, Ontario. Positions move: one tracked term swung from 21 to 1 inside a single day in August 2026. Holding the top spots means noticing that movement and reacting to it, which is the ongoing part of the work.
The results
Two years in, IT-Solutions.CA ranks first in Toronto for the terms that describe its core business. On the rank-tracker snapshot of Aug 18 2026, ten of the fifteen tracked terms shown sat at position 1, three at position 2 and two at position 3. Organic traffic has roughly tripled, and search impressions nearly doubled in the latest six months compared with the six before.
